The California Council on Diesel Education and Technology (CCDET)
In 1992 a consortium of diesel truck and bus engine manufacturers and dealers, California community colleges, and the California Air Resource Board (CARB) came together to form the California Council on Diesel Technology Education and Technology (CCDET). Diesel technology programs at six community colleges–College of Alameda, American River College, Los Angeles Trade-Technical College, Palomar College, San Joaquin Delta College, and Santa Ana College–are the backbone education and training partners of CCDET. CCDET offers a variety a courses aimed at training technicians and fleet owners to comply with diesel emisson regulations for onroad commercial trucks, cargo handling equipment, and commercial harbor craft.
TWI built and manages the website of CCDET and manages the relationship with the California Air Resources Board. When a new or modified CARB regulation requires a training course, TWI develops the curriculum, hosts train-the-trainers sessions, and distributes the curriculum to the member colleges.
